About Smt. Bhargavi Balasubramanian:

Bhargavi Balasubramanian is a highly committed performer and guru, both in vocal and instrumental music. She was initiated to vocal music by Smt Kokila Sundaram (a disciple of Lalgudi Gopala Iyer), who laid a solid foundation for her progress. After continuing her training under Savita Narasimhan for sometime, Bhargavi started receiving advanced training in Vocal and Chitravina from Ravikiran from 2000.

With a repertoire of nearly 400 compositions that is representative of all major compositional forms, Bhargavi has presented vocal and chitravina concerts for several organizations such as Chennai Fine Arts, Naada Inbam, Hamsadhwani, Carnatica, Kapali Fine Arts, Naada Brahmam, International Foundation for Carnatic Music, Oottukkadu Venkata Kavi Academy and Nada Sudha during their Music Festivals in Chennai and in the Navaratri festivals in Kerala.

She has also performed in North America for reputed organisations in Minneapolis, Richmond and San Jose. Bhargavi is also a much sought-after guru and has successfully trained several students in India, USA and Middle Eastern Countries through live classes as well as through the tele-teaching scheme of the International Foundation for Carnatic Music.
