Karya Siddhi Hanuman Templen invites you to participate in Surya Namaskara Yogathon (Jan 23) and Guided Sessions (Jan 24 & 31). This initiative is part of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh's Surya Namaskar Yajna to create awareness among the people about Yoga and its advantages in achieving a healthy body, mind and spirit.
 
Please come and perform Surya Namaskaras with a large group of attendees and share the collective experience and energy.
 
Surya Namaskara or Sun Salutation (lit. "salute to the sun"), is a common sequence of Hatha yoga asanas.
 
This set of 10 dynamic asanas encapsulates the essence of yoga and the practices of yoga's seven steps. Starting with yamas and niyamas (which ensure social and individual purity), asana, pranayama (breathing), dharana(concentration), dhyana (meditation) - Surya Namaskara is an exquisite miniaturized version of all that yoga embodies.

Saturday January 23rd - 2PM to 5PM - Yoga Marathon Session
Sunday January 24th - 10AM to 11AM - Guided Session
Sunday January 31th - 10AM to 11AM - Guided Session
 
Dress Code:  Clothing should be comfortable and allow for free range of motion.
 
Age Criteria: This program is open to people of all ages.
 
The Yoga Marathon is an open event where attendees may come and go per their schedule.  The event will start with warm up exercises at 2 pm. Every attendee is encouraged to do as many as personally possible.  With positive energy and encouragement from the whole group, attendees will usually be able to complete more asanas than when alone.
 
For the best experience, please enjoy a light meal 2 hours prior to participating in any of the Surya Namaskara sessions.
