What can you do with $1/day? Despite what you hear, even in hard economic times, people are generous. It is only when wealth is shared that it gains a purpose and fulfills it.
The Temple's Dollar Seva program is an excellent opportunity to give your wealth a selfless purpose.
Choose a level of donation that is right for your family - starting at $1 a day per registered family member. If you can afford more, register to donate at a few dollars a day. Community Service: Haiti Making a Differnce at a Global Level
Times are hard.. We've all heard it said by many in the news media as we've been wrapped up in our economic hardships. Then a tradegy of such epic proportions hits like the natural disaster in Haiti and it gives us perspective. Times are hard but we are safe and have our loved ones nearby. Times are hard but we have good medical care when we need it. Even when times are hard, we are still so blessed.
May Lord Hanuman grant strength to the victims, the families and the nation of Haiti during it recovery from a devastating natural disaster.
Through your generous heartfelt donations, Datta Yoga Center, KSHT and Yoga Sangeeta raised $10,000. The funds were donated to United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) whose immediate focus in Haiti is on helping the newly orphaned and unaccompanied children.
Thank you for heeding our call to donate to the Haiti fund.

Lord Hanuman Story
In the last newsletter, Lord Ram fulfilled his vow to
Sugreev by installing him as King of Kishkindha.
Now it was Sugreev's turn to help Lord Ram. But due to the
onset of the rainy season, the search for Sita had to be postponed. While Lord Ram and Lakshman bided their time
in a cave on the outskirts of the kingdom, Sugreev was enjoying
his return from exile by reveling in sensory pleasures.
In time the rainy season ended and the season
of sarat began. But Sugreev was too engrossed in his own pleasures to recall
his sacred vow. Lord Ram became impatient and sent Lakshman to remind
Sugreev of his promise. Laskhman very plainly reminded Sugreev of his debt to Lord Ram and the promise to help that remained unfulfilled. Emboldened with Lakshmana's presence, Hanuman and other
ministers strongly chided Sugreev, too.
King
Sugreev immediately begged Lord Ram's pardon and went about organizing search
parties for Devi Sita. Teams were organized to search in each of the four
directions. Since all the information
indicated that Ravana had abducted Sita, the very best and wisest of the vanara
warriors were assembled to search in the southern region. The group consisted of Angada as the lead and was completed by Hanuman, Nila and Jambavan. Sugreev ordered the southern search party to find Lanka and return to Kishkindha within one month - under penalty of death!
Sugreev spoke with Hanuman and reminded him of his many strengths and abilities. Lord Ram entrusted his signet ring to Hanuman with instructions to give it to Devi Sita upon finding her. Such was the faith placed in Hanuman by all the vanaras and even Lord Ram!
Soon the search parties dispersed in all the four directions. The search for Devi Sita had begun!
However, the search parties from the north, east and west soon returned empty-handed. Now, all hopes were pinned on the southern search party - Hanuman's party.
Will be continued...
