Through the grace of Lord Hanuman, the Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple, the surrounding areas and its inhabitants are safe and unaffected by the recent tornados in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. However, with an awareness that over 800 families' homes were devastated, the Temple will be sharing donations from the Share Your Food program with local charities that are helping the impacted families. Also note that the Red Cross (click for more info) is coordinating the raising of funds through many means including texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

May Lord Hanuman give those affected by the tornadoes and all those in need, the strength, support and courage needed to prevail.  The Hanuman Mantra chanting scheduled for this Saturday from 9:45a to 11:45a at the Temple will be dedicated to these families.  Please come and lend your voice to the group chanting for peace and upliftment.

Jai Guru Hanuman Karya Siddhi Hanuman-ji,(Contact First Name)-ji,

The Sri Rama Navaratri / Navami festivities culminated with the grand Sita Rama Kalyana at the Hanuman Temple in March. With record attendance, devotees at the Hanuman Temple were graced with blessings from  Lord Ram, Devi Sita, and Lord Hanuman!  The Temple priests inspired the Kalyana guests to be very involved in the wedding fun. Those  who came for the quick darshan set aside their plans and  stayed until the end. Visitors also enjoyed the all day Temple Mela and delicious mahaprasad dinner.

Having celebrated Lord Ram, it is very befitting that Lord Hanuman's Jayanti is coming up this weekend.  After all, where Lord Ram goes, Hanumanji is sure to follow!  To view the  event photos from Sri Rama Navaratri & Kalyana - please join us on the Temple's Facebook page.

Share Your Food program was recently started at the Temple as a way to better yourself while helping others.  Click to read more about it in this Newsletter.

Share Your FoodThoram
Help yourself while helping the Needy

Giving food to the hungry is one of the highest forms of charity.   When this charity is coupled with self-denial and sacrifice, it makes the giver more devout.  To encourage self-discipline and preserve the world's resources, HH Sri Swamiji has created the 'Share Your Food" (SYF) vrata or fast.

Tuesday is recognized as Hanuman's day.  For the SYF vrata, on every Tuesday for the next three years, make the pledge to fast for one meal either breakfast, lunch or dinner. Soon you will become habituated to eating one meal less.  But it does not stop there.  That sacrificed meal must reach a hungry mouth!  Set aside the food or money from that skipped meal to give to yo

ur local food banks or other worthy

For your convenience, the Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple will be collecting donations for the "Share Your Food" project.  Those interested may come to registration desk at the Temple to make their financial or non-perishable food donations.  Those who register at the Temple will have their information added to the list of vrata participants across the globe.  All non-perishable/canned food collections at the Temple will go to the North Texas Food Bank while monetary donations will be shared equally between local charities and the Datta Venkateswara Temple in Mysore, where thousands of destitute people are given free meals every purnima.

Sri Swamiji Says
 Divine Guidance for Devotees

Does God, who creates and sustains the three worlds, ever require our
flowers, our water and our fruits for His livelihood? Is God in need of
our financial help and worship? What is it that God will get by our
japa, tapa, pooja, bhajan, etc. Whatever spiritual practices we pursue they are all meant to purify ourselves. It is not God who gets enriched by our devotion, instead it is we who get enriched. That should be clearly borne in mind.
