Jai Guru Hanuman, Karya Siddhi Hanuman-ji

Close-up of wonderful clay scultped moorthy at KSHT's Ganesh Utsav

Ganapathy Bappa Moriya! Mangal Moorthy Moriya!

With chants in praise of Lord Ganesh, the Ganesh utsav celebrations at the Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple were spirited and attended by many on weekends and weekdays!  The Ganesh homa and personal pujas were a favorite of devotees.  This year the Temple offered beautiful Ganapathy moorthys which were individually sculpted by the Temple priests from 100% biodegradable clay.  These 9 inch tall moorthys were in great demand. The divine energy from the main Temple Clay Ganapthy and all clay moorthys was returned to the heavenly plane just last week in the largest gathering for Visarjana yet!

May Lord Ganesh bless and grant all His devotees much success.

KSHT Adopts a Street

The Hanuman Temple adopted a 1.5 mile stretch of road for a term of 1 year. The section is  on Coit Rd from the Main St  to Eldorado Parkway. Once a quarter , a team of volunteers will maintain that section of the road on behalf of the Temple.

As you drive by that location, look for the sign with the Temple name (see above).  The installed sign is on Coit Rd facing Main Street and comes on the right side when driving north on Coit.

This program is part of the Temple community improvement efforts.  Thanks to our great Volunteers for their hard work.

If you'd like to help, send an email to seva@dallashanuman.org.

 Pancha Laksha
Kumkumarchana
HH Sri Swamiji doing puja before a Sri Chakra Meru made of Kumkum

This year we have a very special undertaking that will take everyone's participation to ensure success, It is the Pancha Laksha Kumkumarchana.  Through the chanting of the holy Sri Lalita Sahasranama Stotra, the Temple aims to complete chanting Devi Maa's name 5 lakh times!  What a wonderful goal to achieve especially during Navaratri!

Pancha Laksha
Kumkumarchana

  Meaning behind the puja

Following the destruction of the powerful asuras plaguing the world, Durga maa was at her most ferocious.  Sage Adi Sankara is said to have worshipped Godess Durga during that time by doing archana and chanting the sacred Lalita Sahasranama.   Durga maa is very fond of archana and in her infinite compassion immediately turned peaceful and blissful.

By participating in the KumKum archana - on however many days as is possible for you - you will please Devi Maa.  In the Soundarya Lahari by Sage Adi Sankara, he writes that the kumkum taken from the lotus feet of Durga Maa is so powerful that only by after it does Lord Brahma create, Lord Vishnu sustain, Indra rule the heavens, and Lord Shiva bring about paralayam.  Such is the power imbued in the kumkum from the holy feet of Jaganmata after the  Pancha Laksha Kumkumarchana.

Devotees enduring difficulties or going through bad times, should participate wholeheartedly as this kumkum will empower you to break free of those influences.  It is said that you will have 'sampoorna rakshana' (complete protection) by placing the energized kumkum from this puja on your forehead.

While everyone can participate in the chanting and puja, sponsors will receive and do puja to a special coin which they may take home with them.  Kumkum from all participants will be offered to the main Devi Maa moorthy every night.  On the final day, devotess will receive kumkum prasada from this powerful puja to take home.

Share Your Food (SYF)
Help yourself while helping the Needy

HH Sri Swamiji has created the 'Share Your Food' (SYF) vrata.

For the SYF vrata, on every Tuesday, make the pledge to fast for one meal either breakfast, lunch or dinner. That skipped meal must reach a hungry mouth!  Set aside the food or money from that skipped meal (for those who cannot fast due to health reasons) to give to your local food banks or other worthy organization. The Temple can help you route your donations.

Happiness comes from spiritual wealth, not material wealth... Happiness comes from giving, not getting.

If we try hard to bring happiness to others, we cannot stop it from coming to us also.

To get joy, we must give it, and to keep joy, we must scatter it.
